The 2002 NHRA Rules are for your safety and will be
strictly enforced!
2002
General
Rules
- ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION BY PARTICIPATING DRIVERS IS
PROHIBITED.
- No alcohol is allowed in the staging lanes or on
the starting line.
- No glass bottles are allowed on the track
premises.
- Speed limit in the pit area is 5 MPH.
- NO Skateboards or rollerblades are allowed in
the pit area.
- NO Scooters, 3 or 4 Wheelers, or Bikes are to be
used for recreational riding in the pit area. (Parents, for your children's
safety, please help us by monitoring your own children.)
- NO "Deep-Staging".
- Dial-in must be on your car before crossing the
white line in the Staging Lanes and cannot be changed. Dial-in may be
changed between rounds.
- Reaction times, 60 ft., and 330 ft. times are
provided as an "extra" to basic timing information and there will
not be any re-runs due to missed or disputed "extras".
- Anytime it has been judged that excessive
braking has resulted in the loss of control that results in contact with the
guardrail and/or light fixtures, or crossing the center boundary lines,
INCLUDING PAST THE FINISH LINE, the contestant will be disqualified.
- Rain out rules : If it rains to were
Texhomamotorplex can not clean the race track to run a safe race
Texhomamotorplex will call the race a Test and Tune and call contestants
will get a rain check less test and tune price ($10.00). Rain checks will be
good for 30 days.
- All spectators will also get a rain check. All
bands will be signed and dated and will be good for 50% of gate price for 30
days.
The above rules and procedures are strictly
enforced. Failure to comply will be grounds for disqualification.
2002
NHRA Race Rule
Below is an outline of rules enforced by Texhoma
MotorPlex. This list is not intended to be all inclusive. Please refer to
the 2002 NHRA Rule Book for detailed information on safety requirements and
procedures in effect. If you need any additional information or explanations,
please consult one of the Track's certified Technical Inspectors. Thank you for
your cooperation in complying with the established procedures.
- All drivers of cars running 6.39 or faster must
have NHRA Competition License.
- All cars running between 4.50 and 6.39 must have
chassis certified every three years.
- All drivers in Super Pro and Pro must wear
helmets meeting Snell 85 or above specs.
- All drivers running 7.49 or faster must wear
fire retarding jackets.
- All drivers must wear long pants. Drivers may
not wear sleeveless shirts.
- All cars running in Super Pro and Pro
Eliminators must have drive shaft loop. (With the exception of cars running
8.99 or slower with street tires.)
- All cars running Super Pro must have
after-market rear axles.
- All cars in Super Pro must have a Transmission
Shield or Approved Bell Housing.
- All cars running an automatic transmission must
have reverse lockout.
- All cars running 7.49 or faster must have a roll
bar. Cars running 6.99 or faster must have a roll cage.
- All cars running 6.39 or faster (or where the
batteries have been relocated to the trunk area) must have a master
electrical cutoff switch.
- Drivers of OpenWheel cars must wear approved arm
restraints and gloves.
- All cars must have seat belts. Cars running 7.49
or faster must have restraint system meeting SFI Spec 16-1.
- All cars must have one working tail light.
- Delay Boxes - Permitted (in all classes except
No Electronics and Street Class Must Use foot brake only in No Electronics.
Unless you have a clutch you may use a line lock to stage, But it must be
used on front wheels). One box/device only, may be attached to the transbrake
and/or throttle timer only. Any other attachment is prohibited.
- Delay box may only display delay amount
dialed-in (analog or digital display permitted). All direct wiring must be
clearly identifiable to Tech Inspector. Delay device connected to shift
timers, data recorders, or any other equipment (i.e., delay box testers,
counters, burnout timers, etc) prohibited.
